How do you handle tags for multiple instances of Articulate?

I have two Articulate blogs on my site. One is new so I copied it from the old one and we're going to split the posts between the two blogs based on their categories. How can I manage the tags/categories per blog? If I delete a category under the "Articulate Categories" branch, it deletes it in both blogs.

    Hi Joshua

Sorry but this fringe case is not something that is currently (or easily) handled.

The Tag manager package provides the ability to manage tags based on their tag group.

The tag group is setup within the data type but creating another "tag" data type and setting the group there.

However, I would assume that the 2 blogs you have use the same document type for the blog post page and therefore, by default, use the same "tag" data type.

To work within the constraints of Umbraco functionality and the Tag manager package, you would have to create a new document type for one of the blogs and change the tag data type to a new data type which points to a different tag group.

I don't know if this is an option for you but for now is the only solution I can think of.

    Hope it helps.

    Nigel

    I'll try that, thanks.
