    Doesn't work with Google Chrome

    Hey guys,

I use Google Chrome (v. 4.0.249.43) to develop in Umbraco. This tool doesn't work for some reason. I get the message "There has been an I/O Error: Error #2038: File I/O Error" at the end of the first upload, and nothing is added to the library.

If I use Internet Explorer it works fine.

Otherwise very cool and useful tool!

This error can have two causes:

    • You have your /umbraco folder protected (anonymous access disabled).
    • You're behind a firewall/proxy that requires authentication.

I haven't been able to find a solution for either situation.

Oops, I forgot about the most obvious cause, because I was assuming you were uploading the same file, if not then it's the max. upload size... :)

    Hi Sebastian,

I have tried this using IE from the same computer and it works fine, and there is no proxy or firewall between the server and my computer. They are on the same subnet.

Since I am able to upload usin IE, the /umbraco folder permissions must be fine.

I have tried to upload the exact same files, but just to be sure I have added <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="51200"/> to my web.config, which would set the limit to 50mb.

The only thing that is different is the browser.

The only thing I can thing of is that there are flash incompatibilities in Chrome at the moment. I use Chrome extensively as well, and have noticed issues outside of Umbraco with the flash plugin. So, I don't think it is related to the package or Umbraco specifically.
