Which uses more VPS memory - SQL Express or SQL CE?

I have a Windows Server 2008 VPS where I host a number of Umbraco websites. For my smaller clients sites I usually use SQL CE for the database, and for larger sites I have SQL Express running on the VPS. I'm wondering which of these uses more memory and whether I should be choosing one over the other for more efficient memory usage on the VPS?

Interesting question. I would think that all depends on how you configure memory for the server process, not as a aspect of running on a VPS, which, on the DB Server level, is abstracted out of relevance. Sorry, not an answer, but a bump nonetheless.

I have a cheap 2008 server web edition VPS that I run. With sql express running with default install settings, IIS7.5 it hovers around the 1.5GB ram usage mark. With sql server uninstalled it hovers around the 900MB mark (my umbraco installs are all SqlCE).....

I hope that helps somewhat....your milage will vary and probably be different to my experiences...
