We are having the same issue. Attempting upgrade from version 6.1.6 to 7.6.3. Updated UmbracoCms NuGet to 7.6.3, now unable to login to the Back Office to complete the upgrade. No error message, just a generic login fail entry in the Umbraco trace log. User is not locked out and not due to a forgotten password. If attempt upgrade from 6.1.6 to 7.3.5 for the same project, do not experience this login failure.
Can´t login after v7 upgrade
Hi all,
I´ve upgraded a site from 6.2.2. to 7.6.3. I try to login (as a Umbraco admin user...right?), but it fails: "Login failed for user xxxxx".
I´ve tried setting the useLegacyEncoding="true", it didn´t work, same error.
Any suggestions?

Daniel, Umbraco 7.6 has forgot password functionality, can you try it?
I havn´t forgotten the admin password. The reset package seems neat though. The login fails during installation.
