My colleague is experienting a very frustrating issue. The backoffice runs a bit slower in general, but when pressing "Save and publish" it is extremely slow with a server response time at 40-60 seconds before it completes.
This only happens on his localhost running on remote database. Pulling down the database to run locally on SQL server express works fine, as well as logging in to the backoffice on the live site is all good.
On my pc with the exact same site (and localhost + remote database) and on the same WiFi, there is no problem.
On his PC, the problem goes away when either running LAN or mobile WiFi hotspot. Regardless of the hotspot using mobile network or just redirecting the existing WiFi. But when he is directly on the main WiFi router, this slow backoffice happens (it's a mesh network).
The website on the frontend runs fine, it's only in the backoffice. The site and database is hosted on a webhotel, not azure.
We've tried all these things with no solution:
Resetting/clearing all network settings.
Reinstall WiFi driver.
Running setup in a Hyper-V VM with fresh Windows 11 install.
Updated/reinstalled VS studio, IIS, SQL server and .NET sdk.
Latest Windows updates, as well as the optional ones.
Firmware update (it's a Lenovo Thinkpad).
Deleted TEMP folder.
Rebuild memory and database cache.
So at this point, we feel like it's narrowed down to something between his specific PC and the WiFi router. Bu that makes us wonder why he doesn't have any network issues on any other site/app on his PC. It exclusively happens when saving and publish in Umbraco - In this example its on Umbraco 13, but he also tried another solution running Umbraco 8 and it's the same issue, though it was more like 20 seconds.
Speedtests shows both download and upload speeds on 50+ mb/s.
Ya'll got a clue or wild shot about anything we haven't tried? No suggestions are stupid at this point..
