    Umbraco 7 allow any HTML tag

    Using Umbraco 7

    Hi,

    I installed Umbraco 7.2.5 and having issues with tinyMCE editor.

    The richTextEditor is removing HTML5 tags, like <section>.

    I have followed the instruction to edit tinyMceConfig.config file and allow any HTML by editing the following

    <validElements><![CDATA[*[*]]]></validElements>

    But this is not working.

    have restarted website in IIS, but no luck.

     

    Any help would be highly appreciated.

    I have another website running under Umbraco 6, and the above solution works.

    Hi, I'm jay ,now i'm using umbraco 4.9.0 and i want to upgrade it to 4.11.10. what steps i am follow? And what should update in my folders? Is there any way to do this operation successful? 

    and i trying upgrade but shows an error installation process

    what is the error i don't know & how to rectify error any one give me solution

    If you want to upgrade your Umbraco installation you should follow the general upgrading guide which you find here. https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/installation/upgrading/general

    It can so be a good idea to see the specific version upgrading guide, in this you will see if you need to do some special to upgrade to the version that you want. You can find the specific version upgrade guide here: https://our.umbraco.org/documentation/installation/upgrading/version-specific

    Perhaps this can help you http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9040266/how-to-fix-error-format-of-the-initialization-string-does-not-conform-to-speci I was also thinking could it be a permissions issue, so please check that you have the right ermissions regarding to this documentation https://our.umbraco.org/wiki/reference/files-and-folders/permissions

    Thanks Alex, 

    That worked.

    I added section[*] in the validElements list, not sure why it didnt work before.
