    Upgrade from 3.0 to 4.5

    Installing umbraco

    Hi

    Does anyone have som experiance on upgrading from a Umbraco 3.0 to the newest version 4.5?

    Are the databases compatible?

    If we were to build a complete new 4.5 version, is it possible to migrate the content then?

    I think you need to upgrade this way: 3.0 -> 4.0.4.2 -> 4.5 for the best compability. 

    Not sure if the 3->4.5 will work right out of the box. Give it a try :)

    I'll give it a try, just hoping that the content is able to be moved. Then we can use the new XML-schema.

    Did you try it and what was the outcome? I have a client that needs to upgrade from 3.0 to 4.5 as well
