    Access node above Start Node, Permissions issue

    Extending Umbraco
    Umbraco 7

    I have a user and they have a "Start Node in" a location down the tree. Then I have a custom list view that uses a node that is in the root of the tree. Umbraco tells me that the user does not have permission.

    I need the user to have a "Start Node" lower down the tree. So that cannot change.

    I need a way to hook into Umbraco and tell it the user has permission to view. Can this be done?
