    404 for old project URLs

Now that all the projects have been moved into categories, any links to the old URLs are now broken.

    e.g. http://our.umbraco.org/projects/aspnet-system-information

Is it possible to either, add an "umbracoUrlAlias" to prevent future 404 errors?

e.g. The value would be "projects/aspnet-system-information"

This would allow us to move projects around between categories without any concern of broken links. Say if I re-considered my project to be a Backoffice Extension, rather than a Developer Tool?

    Thanks, Lee.

looks like the packages section of our umbraco needs this package installed (and all the old urls retro-fitted)

Yes, it's nice with the new project categories, but it's unfortunate that it has resulted in so many broken links. A "301 moved permanently" would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

Bumping up an old topic. We still really need a way to have either a permalink to a project - or a 404 handler to redirect accordingly.

    Thanks, Lee.

    Bump!

This does really look bad considering the abundance of broken links to projects, as illustrated above. Reorganising a site structure without 301s/rewrite rules/good handling of 404 does not give a professional impression.

At the risk of being annoying... bump! We still need 301 redirects on the project URLs!

    Cheers, Lee.

There are a LOT of links that are no longer working, projects, wiki, ...

this really could use some fixing... you just committed SEO suicide...
