This package is a simple dashboard control that enables you to quickly view and edit your Document Types. It allows you to edit the Name, Thumbnail, Icon, and Description, all right from the dashboard.
It's especially useful for touching up a site after or during development, by providing a quick view of which Document Types still need Descriptions added, Icons set, etc - along with a quick way to set them, while eliminating the need to click through every one to see it's status. Check out the screenshots or screencast for a better explanation.
INSTALLATION - Simply install the package as normal. The package will automatically add a tab called "Document Types" to your Settings dashboard. You can move the control around to other areas by editing /config/Dashboard.config
UNINSTALLATION - Uninstall the package as normal. In some cases the dashboard may not be removed, you can remove it manually in the /config/Dashboard.config file.
REQUIREMENTS - Tested on Umbraco 4.7 and 4.5.2 (.NET 3.5 and 4.0 versions).
ROADMAP / IDEAS -
- Improve performance (can take a few seconds after clicking Edit)
- Upload icons & thumbnails from the dashboard
- Use a better dropdown control
- Ability to exclude certain doctypes (such as ones that are only used for inheritance)
- .... ?
