Well, you caught me :) Initially I developed the Omit Segments Url Provider with a more generic usage spectrum in mind but later on I thought it would be better if I made a specific implementation using it, so that's how VirtualNodes came to life. Truth is I needed something like VirtualNodes myself so I didn't like the idea of not having a plugin specific to that. It's based on the same principle, with slightly altered code to suit that specific functionality.

Is this the same as your "Omit Segments" Url Provider? Perhaps just a later version?
