I just want to check if there are any issues with installing the 301 Redirect package on a site that already has the SEOChecker installed? Client needs to set up some 301's and as far as I can tell SEOChecker doesn't do this.
Maybe I've got an out of date manual (1.8) but it doesn't appear to have the same functionality or at least it doesn't mention 301 anywhere in the searchable text so I don't know if the redirects are 301 or 302. The 301 Url Tracker allows the selection of 301 or 302 redirects.
We want to be able to enter a url that has never existed and have it 301 redirect to a node. Also we use IP redirection which has caused issues with SEOChecker in the past.
I just tried adding /test to redirect to /phones/somephone. When I went to www.mysite.com/de-de/test or www.mysite.com/test I just get a 404.
I wanted to try the 301 Url Tracker to see if it did any better, but thought I'd ask first in case there's a conflict.
I changed my redirection so it went from /de-de/test to /de-de/phones/somephone and it works. And what's more, http://www.redirect-checker.org confirms it as a 301 :)
We're going to have to add a redirection per language though. 13 languages, is a lot of redirection.

Well actually, we may still have an issue. Now with the client and it appears that redirecting back up the structure: /en-gb/category/product to /en-gb/category doesn't work. We've tried it on the live and test sites and tried various pages. It works fine going the other way i.e. down the structure.
They're using this schema to cope with a discontinued product so the user is returned to the product category page.

Why not just SEO checker 301 functionality? Both have the same functionality so could conflict.

Great that it's solved and how can I make this more clear? Redirect manager is about redirects I think?

That makes sense indeed. I am only affraid that people will create 302's for the wrong reason and that could affect rankings.
