    uSync 2.2. For Umbraco 7.1

Umbraco 7.1 is out - woot and uSync 2.2 is out (slow handclap?)

    go get it now: http://our.umbraco.org/projects/developer-tools/usync/

uSync 2.2 uses all the lovelness of umbraco 7.1 to import/export and mange all your doctypes, datatypes, and the like - it has a few things which are nicer such as:

Speed - uSync now uses clever checking technology to only update things when they have actually changed. the last couple of versions have gotten slow when you have a large site because ever change was causing updates ripples to go through umbraco. as of 2.2 updates only happen when things have changed.

API Ness - it doesn't make a huge difference but uSync 2.2 is using more and more of the core api, this just means it behaves itself better, and you know its not going to do random things to your database (not that it ever did)

Auto auto updates - you can now get usync to watch the usync folder for changes, and apply them while you watch - without any updates. this requires full trust/access and really is only for the impatient developer but still it's one less thing you need to open and save the web.config for.

Settings Dashboard - you can control the main settings for usync from a tab under developer, so you can turn on and off the main behaviours of usync, and run a manual import or export if you want.

please feeback: uSync 2.2 is the result of quite a bit of work to bring the project upto to the new core api inside of umbraco - I've done a lot of testing but there are bound to be bits or DataTypes somewhere that don't quite work - please do test and feedback, and I am always open to feature requests if it doesn't do the thing.

    thanks.

Kevin what version would you recommend for 6.2?  I am currently running a site on 6.2RC and would like uSync goodness..

Hi Barry there is a "release candidate candidate" for 6.2.

    https://github.com/KevinJump/jumps.umbraco.usync/tree/V2.1-Master/Package

I haven;t actually tried this on the RC yet - but the common issues between 7.1 and 6.2 are in the RC i think.

    Hi Kevin

Will you be releasing uSync 2.2 for Umbraco 6.2 tomorrow or anytime soon?

    M.

I haven't tested the latest version against v6.2 in a week or two, so I will probably want to do some tests on the release version when it lands, but in theory, the v6.2 branch on github (https://github.com/KevinJump/jumps.umbraco.usync/tree/v2.2-Umbraco-6) isn't to far away,

    So I hope so.

Works great the first time, umbraco 7.1.4. But When I made changes now, it didn't update the syncfiles, and when I reinstalled it and I got my new files, it didn't update the remote site when I copied my files over.

How can I access the dashboard in the back office?

    Thanks for a great package!
