Hi there, we are looking to implement Merchello as an ecommerce solution for a musician whose website we are designing. Consequently, we would like to handle the download of digital goods (Such as his albums) automatically from purchase and securely. It is our understanding that we can in fact use Merchello for this, but we are struggling to find suitable documentation explaining how and the methods Merchello uses.
Any comments and advice would be greatly appreciated
If there is an event that gets triggered after a purchase comes in in Merchello then you can have a look at Mediaprotect that might help you.
What you can do with mediaprotect is make sure the album is protected for anonymous access and can only be downloaded for selected memebergroups.
After purchase you can programmatically (when an event is raised in Merchello) assign the correct membergroup to the logged in member and then that member can download the file(s).

I think that could well be a solution we will look into; as we don't seem to be able to find any information whatsoever about whether or not Merchello can offer this functionality out of the box.
