    RenderTemplate control doesn't seem to like nested master page for AltTemplateId

    Questions/Suggestions

    I was thrilled to figure out the AltTemplateId and DocTypeAliasesToUseAltTemplate parameters in the RenderTemplate control today. I noticed that it does not work if the template is a nested master page.

    I have a FullBio Template, ID 1173, with its master template being People. It is set up like this in my templates:

    People
- FullBio
- ShortBio
– Author

    If I use AltTemplateId="1173", it does not work. No errors, the page just does not render that part.

    If I however, remove FullBio (or any other nested master page) as a child of People, it will work as expected.

    Any idea as to why the nested would not work?
