Link to page, media or external source

Can the link button in toolbar be modified to trigger the Umbraco panel to link to a content node or media like as in RichText editor?

    /Bjarne

    Great! :)

Perhaps there is a way to combine "Umbraco media" with "ckEditor image" ... and "Umbraco link" with "ckEditor link" ..

maybe it can be combined in the sidebar someway..

another alternative might be to create a new skin for ckEditor, that have more Umbraco 7 look and feel? http://ckeditor.com/addons/skins/all

We'd also love a link-to-content button similar to how the TinyMCE link icon brings up the content tree. With that in place, we'll probably replace all our richtext fields with uCKEditor. It does seem to resolve many of the issues we've been having with TinyMCE.

Request: our editors want to easily insert a media image, add a caption, then float image+caption left or right of text. I see the Enhanced Image plugin for CKEditor but unsure how to implement it in Umbraco, and whether it combines well with the existing Insert Media button.

    Hi Eric,

I am gradually integrating all TinyMCE features into uCKEditor, but I can't confirm when the link-to-content or other features will be done, since I am developing this package on my spare time, and some integrations are very time consuming.

Regarding the media image integration into uCKEditor is already done, but it is not integrated with the CKEditor insert image button. I have been investigating how to integrate them, but it is not something easy. As a work around, it is possible to insert an image using the uCKEditor Umbraco media button, and when the image is already inserted into the editor, then you select the image and after click on the CKEditor button, what will open the default CKEditor image dialog, allowing you to define the image size, caption, .... I know that means a couple of clicks more.

    Cheers, Alain

In my opinion CKEditor should replace TinyMCE in the Umbraco core. Since it's not, I want to thank you for creating this package.

However, I don't think it's a viable replacement for TimyMCE due to the lack of content node linking support. This puzzles me because the media picker and the embed dialogs are supported but not the ability to link to an umbraco node. I see that this is on the roadmap but am I alone in thinking that this is a must-have feature? It looks like it's been more than 2 years since this was discussed here. Is this package still being developed/supported? Is there an estimate when this feature will be integrated?
