    Dependency on Microsoft.AspNet.Mvc.FixedDisplayModes

    Hi Jonathan,

This looks like an amazing package! It's like AngularGoogleMaps on steroids!

I was just about to install it via NuGet when I saw that it had a dependency on Microsoft.AspNet.Mvc.FixedDisplayModes package (which is now deprecated). Is there any reason for this? I'm not keen on adding unwanted dependencies if they can be avoided.

    Hi Dan,

That is only if you install Terratype and haven't already installed Umbraco, which will install Umbraco 7.0.0 which I presume did required Microsoft.AspNet.Mvc.FixedDisplayModes

If you install Umbraco first and then Terratype second, which I can imagine is how 99% of people would do, then only whatever Umbraco needs would be installed.

I have checked on an Umbraco 7.5.13 with Terratype and no Microsoft.AspNet.Mvc.FixedDisplayModes is installed, so no need to panic.

So to repeat. Terratype has only one dependency and that is an Umbraco version 7.0.0 or later. If that is already installed, then no other dependencies are installed, regardless of what the list says.

    Terratype Dependencies

If you are very eagle eyed in the screenshot, you can see that Nuget states that Microsoft.AspNet.Mvc.FixedDisplayModes is a dependency, but if you continue, it isn't installed as seen in far right hand column of website references.

    Cheers

    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,

Ahh, OK, thanks, that makes sense. I've already got Umbraco installed so should be good. I'll give it a go and let you know.

    Thanks for your quick response!

Edit: Yep, you were right! It's weird, because it gets you to accept the license for it, says it's installing it, but then doesn't actually do so. I'll put that down to NuGet vagaries!

    Dan
