I installed Tag Manager some time ago for a client and they were using it successfully for a while.
Recently I noticed that it is no longer working, trying to expand the Tag Manager node actually seems to crash the browser but I think its because they have a large number of tags and have never grouped them etc.
Here is the data from the URL that tag manager requests when I try to expand the node
The JSON it grabs from here is about 5MB
/umbraco/backoffice/TagManager/TagManagerTree/GetNodes?id=tagGroup-default&
Thanks for your post and wow ! From a quick look at the file, they are certainly using the tag system in a way I never expected... But I guess that in itself is a good lesson.
Yes I agree it would be a good thing to add pagination however at the moment I simply have no spare time to enhance the package. Sorry
I will see how things go and when spare time shows up I can look into your idea.
Again, sorry for not being able to help at the moment.
Just revisiting this after many months, thanks for the update but looks like there is still an issue.
As soon as I try to 'expand' the Default node in the tag section the Chrome window grinds to a halt and the console log fills up with thousands of messages (only visible with verbose levels shown).
Came to about 180,000 messages similar to the below:
jquery.min.js?cdv=1680006669:3 [Violation] Added non-passive event listener to a scroll-blocking 'touchmove' event. Consider marking event handler as 'passive' to make the page more responsive.
Tag Manager crashes browser window? Is it the sheer volume of tags?
Firstly, thanks for your work.

Any chance we can get it to request this in chunks / pages? :)

Thanks for the prompt reply, yes they need some lessons in tagging that is for sure ;)
Hi Sam
I have just released an updated package so it would be interesting to see if the crashing stops, although the volume issue prob still exists.
I haven't added pagination, but updated in terms of building against V7.5.7 and nodes are now updated on the saving of tag data.
