Firstly, wonderful job.

I too would like to work with the source on this.  Can you post a project on codeplex or post to the umbracoExt project?

Actually i am working on this package to allow FileUpload and other datatypes as well. Also new interface would be more user friendly, source code will  be available once i have completed any extensions.

Can you send me the source code as well. I'm upgrading a project to Umbraco 4.1 and I need your excellent datatype to continue to work. Unfortunately, it has some issues with Umbraco 4.1. They can easily be solved (I believe) - if I have the source code, that is.

I started looking at the license, but gave up... however it looks open enough, so why not use reflector and get the source.

I used reflector on it, and changed the package to use pagePicker and mediaChooser. works with 4.5 now :)

We too have a custom version of that control, based upon a Reflector disassembly. It works with v4.5 (and 4.6 as far as I can tell) and has various bugs fixed (and some bugs do require fixes to Umbraco's core).

We created it out of sheer frustration of not being able to update the code, contribute, whatever. In fact I thought Masood had abandonned the project.

I am willing to cleanup our code, merge whatever code others have, and publish it.

Questions: where should we publish it? Codeplex? Should we try to have it merged into Shannon's uComponents?

Masood, can we have your opinion on this?

I recently emailed Masood about the status of the project.  He tells me that he is working on a version for Umbraco 4.5 and should be released soon.

Not sure where Masood stands on releasing the source-code ... however given that he's applied the GPL license, he should distribute the source!

It looks like there will be alternative with sources - Multiple DataType Container (Coming in v2.1)  from uComponents (http://ucomponents.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=MultipleDataTypeContainer).

The work was great.But there was a small little bug.

When i create a datetime picker datatype, during add new item it looks great but during update the datetime does not give any response.

Fantastic package - can't believe I didn't discover this till just now.

Are you letting your source code out in the public or not?

I would love to take a look at the source as I have yet to see an example of anyone doing anything this comprehensive (and useful) with custom data types and I would love to be able to do that myself. Umbraco is 2 or 3 datatypes away from being perfect for content management.
