    Hi

We are using Umbraco 7.7.2 and a client is asking us if we can encrypt the data that is being entered into the Database via Umbraco Forms.

We cannot use the latest SQL 2016 encryption as this was very problematci when trying to migrate an existing site into 2016 using encryption.

Is there a way to encrypt the data? A "NO" answer will suffice if that is the case.

    Many thanks

    Jon

Out of the box, no there isn't a way to do this. However you could easily create your own workflow or custom data types to handle this.

If you went down the workflow approach you would have to trigger a re-save of the record data so there were problems the data wouldn't be encrypted initially.

    Just a thought :-)

    Hi Jonathan,

currently there is no option out of the box, but I'm working on my thoughts to enable this, but this will only probably will be in a package around Q1 2018.

Until that time I'm wondering why you want to encrypt the data? Is it particular sensitive data, or is it about GDPR?

    Regards, Jeffrey
