    Ecommerce plugin for umbraco

    Hi

I am looking for a good shopping cart plugin, paid or free that has a billing section for customers so that I can have like: https://billing.domain.com

    1) to allow clients to pay for different types of services like:

    • painting and decorating
    • or uphostery
    • or car spraying

and perhaps possibly so that they can pay 20% now before work, then go back to the site and pay all the rest?

    2) and another cart with a subdomain like http://shop.domain.com for another site to pay 100% upfront for all products like:

    • books
    • DVD's
    • MP3 for immediate downloads,
    • MP4 for immediate downloads,

Here's a comparison my company is working on internally:

    Comparison

I'm personally skewing more toward Merchello. They are very responsive to questions on Twitter: https://twitter.com/OurMerchello

Their forum is a better place for more in-depth questions: https://our.umbraco.org/projects/collaboration/merchello/merchello/

Great comparison. I'd like to add a couple of missing points for uCommerce.

Developer Training: Free, new classes every month. Next round of uCommerce for Umbraco training kicks off June 6. Sign up for master class. Full event list, if you need a different date for training :)

Dashboards: core - multiple reporting dashboards for catalog, orders, and marketing.

Promo & discounts: core - extensible AAA model to add to the existing discounts. We support promocodes, unit level discounts, bundles, shipping based discounts, catalog-category-product-variant level discounts, and free gifts.

Tax providers: EU VAT + Avarala US sales tax as an app.

Integration with other systems: uConnector integration platform.

Unit tests: Yes. SOLID based architecture also enables you to create your own tests for any extension and customization you create.

    Integration tests: Yes.

Biggest cons: We're not open source, but our architecture is put together to give many of the same benefits, but without having to fork the source code to fix issues. Our Framework First architecture allows for a great deal of flexbility to workaround issues should they arise.

Take for example the pipeline system, which is basically a set of configurable business logic. Should something not work to your liking you can replace the offending component and work around it. This architecture is pervasive throughout the platform primarily to enable you to extend.

You can see how the architecture extends to build apps for uCommerce on YouTube.

Support: Ticket based support for paid version. uCommerce Buddy - a dev from the uCommerce team is assigned to your pro - for enterprise projects.

Forum: The uCommerce team answers questions on our community forum at http://eureka.ucommerce.net

If you'd like a guided tour of uCommerce please let me know. I'm more than happy to set up a call and take you through everything the platform can do :)

Alternatively, you can watch an introduction and overview video of uCommerce on YouTube.

Oh and there's free version of uCommerce as well if you don't need all the bells and whistles :)
