I have just moved this from the UI forum in the hope someone may respond here.

We are using Umbraco V6.2.5.

The editor is powering a large site and generally working well. However we are beginning to experience the media part of the system running extremely slowly and even timing out.

Has anyone experienced this? would any of the following impact:

• large amount of items in the media folders
• large files in the system,for example 20mb+
• Recycle bin - how often should it be emptied?

Does the application retrieve list of all the folders and media items every time they are requested or is there caching of the structure of any sort?
