Is there any issues with Umbraco 7

Obviously will be looking to upgrade from Umbraco 6.x.x to Umbraco 7 in the near future and there is a version of Contour for Umbraco 7, will there be any issues with Contour Contrib?

    Hi Steve

Contour will not be compatible with Umbraco 7.2 out of the box since Umbraco Froms is a part of 7.2 and basically it means Contour rewritten. But you should be able to use Contour Migrations to go from Contour to Umbraco Forms though.

And hence I don't think that Contour contrib will be compatible either.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Steve,

What version of Umbraco 7 are you thinking upgrading to. If you are thinking to use the new Umbraco 7.2.1 then the Contour is replaced by the new Umbraco Forms. If you havenĀ“t seen it yet you can find the documentation here, https://github.com/umbraco/UmbracoFormsDocumentation and beawre that this documentation is still in progress at the moment.

And here is a uHangout episode here Per from the HQ is talking about the new Umbraco Forms. http://uhangout.co.uk/video/iTKb4k4UJqU

Tim has also developed a package called Umbraco Forms Migration. This tool will help you migrate Contour forms and workflows from a Contour instance to an Umbraco Forms instance. It will add a new dashboard control to the developer section. All you need to provide is a connection string to the Contour instance. http://our.umbraco.org//projects/developer-tools/umbraco-forms-migration

Just my thoughts, hope these are helpful,

    /Dennis

    Hi both

that's really helpful thank you very much. I will have to keep looking as much of it seems to 404 at the moment but I see Tim seems to be constantly updating things.

We would probably go to the latest version so 7.2 although we aren't in any rush as we haven't got the new (v6) website live yet.

The only thing we really use Contrib for is the ability to send attachments from the form easily - is that functionality now available within Umbraco Forms?

    Hi Steve

You're very welcome - If there is no rush then it might be a good idea to wait for a while.

I'm not sure wether or not this is now backed in directly but it would indeed be nice. I'll just go check on a clean installation. Otherwise it might be a good idea to file it as a feature request on the issue tracker so there might be a chance that it's becoming a default option.

However I don't see an option to add issues on a specific forms tracker currently. But then perhaps choose "Contour" in the dropdown and then write "Umbraco Forms feature request" in the subject or something like that.

    I'll be back.

    Hi Steve

Currently there is no option to set an uploaded file to be attached in the e-mail sent afterwards. So it should probably be made into a feature request. But otherwise a 3rd party package like the Contour Contrib will probably see the light as well.
