    Advanced Media Picker with custom fields

    Questions/Suggestions

    Hello team,

    I made a post a couple of days back about the Media Picker built into Umbraco as I really need to allow users to enter the alt text for an image when adding images using the advanced media picker. So thought I would add a post on here as it would be a real good addition if custom properties could be defined without the need to also go to the media section.

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the suggestion! We haven't got any plans for custom media picker in uComponents - especially one that would only contain a subtle difference.

    You're best bet is to raise a ticket on the Umbraco CodePlex site - and try to get as many people to up-vote it.

    With that said, if any one feels that there is a scope to drastically improve the Media Picker data-type, then please feel free to submit a patch to uComponents, or start a discussion?

    Thanks for the response Lee.

    I have a working way round the issue as its only for the main image of the content pages not ones selected throught the Tiny mce editor.

    Keep up the great work with uComponents!

    I'm currently working on the Digibiz Advanced Media Picker which contains a lot of cool new features the default Umbraco media picker doens't have. If you're interested I can send you the RC I currently have. Just give me your e-mail :).
