Dooh, I lost the setting for "Start Node in Content" in settings for a particular user. I had it before on this site, and I havent added any odd things recently. Now that I need it quick, and it's gone... Only thing I did change was I moved the previous "start node in content" one level down, and changed it's name. Could that cause this error?
I tried add another user for this, it's added, but when I try change anything I get an error "Error saving user (check log)". The log only say : Error, User cannot be updated.
The site is a pretty well-ordered one, with no tweaks or specialities afaik.
I made it work by adding yet another user and set the correct folder. Works, but setting is gone now, so I cannot change it for that user. Need to get on with other stuff, will get back to this another day. Perhaps there's already a issue at codeplex for this.

If having issues changing it from the backend, I'd suggest to change the settings in the db directly (umbracoUser table) and report this issue on Codeplex as well so it gets resolved in future release!
i go straightly to report it on Codeplex. Unfortunatly i don't have no more the direct access to db so i urgent need to found another way to change it.

Do you mean that you don't see the setting at all anymore? Or, you can't locate the node to start in?

The whole setting is lost, for other users it's there, right above "Start node in Media".

Bummer... but you could still script the changes if you know the user id's and start node to set, or have someone local to do the changes...

Tried this in 4.1.b2 and the problem seems to have been fixed.
