What permissions are required where if you want to allow media items to be published using Courier?

    Hi,

we are using Courier to transfer content. Text in fields works, but it appears that when an image is in a rich text field, the image does not get transferred across. Do certain permissions have to be set on the Media folder and if so what?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Damon,

You don´t need any specific permissions to transfer content with Courier.

If you don´t use the latest version of Courier could you please then try upgrade it to 2.51.4 and see if the problem is still there.

    Hi Dennis,

we do have the latest version.

But wont the Media folder itself require certain permissions to allow writing to it? Arent the image stored in the Media folder somewhere, and not in the DB?

    Thanks,

    Hi Damon,

The media items are stored in the DB, and as physical files in the files system in the folder /media.

You should use these permissions on your Umbraco installation to make sure that everything runs as it should.
