I have an old v 4.0.4.2 site we cannot upgrade however we want to use contour on it, so which version of contour from the nightly archive can we use? v1?? Also the license we will purchase from umbraco.com will that work with old version?

Yeah on older version :) would say use 1.1.9
for licensing update the licensing assembly to http://nightly.umbraco.org/umbraco.licensing/ and then it should work with the current licenses
