Problems installing Contour 3 into Umbraco 4.10.1

I tried to install Contour 3 on a fresh install of Umbraco 4.10.1 but received the following error message:

Could not load type 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.ExtensionAttribute' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.

I’m running it locally using .NET 4 and SQL Server 2008 R2. What am I doing wrong?

This also occurs on v4.9.0 - although this is an existing test installation and an upgrade of Contour using the files in the upgrade zip & SQL script

Hi guys, could you tell me if you have .net framework 4.5 installed? Might be related to that, looking into the issue now

So the 4.5 framework isn't installed on the machine you are running the site on? From what I can find it has something todo with that, I'll let you know once I find a solution

Installing the 4.5 framework should resolve the issue but I'm looking into a solution that doesn't need that...

    Thanks Tim,

I'm just setting up a test system based on working backups of our existing test installation. I'll upgrade again with the standard 4.0 framework, then try installing version 4.5 if I get any problems. I'll let you know how I get on!

Seems it's an issue with our build server, so currently installing 4.5 framework will solve it but we'll look into the error next week

    Hi Tim,

I know we are a bit late to reply, but thought you'd like to know that we've installed the 4.5 framework on our test systems and all the Contour and razor issues are now resolved.

    Hi Tim,

That means it doesnt work in the .net framework 4.0  ?

@Kumar it should but currently it doesn't due to an issue on our build server, we are looking into it but currently the only way to fix is to install .net framework 4.5

i just upgraded an existing contour to v3 and i have the same problem - issues in the back-end and all xslt failing on the front-end.

presumably related to this thread: http://our.umbraco.org/forum/getting-started/installing-umbraco/34986-Umbraco-49-Could-not-load-type-'SystemRuntimeCompilerServicesExtensionAttribute'-

     UPDATE:

upgrading the server to .net 4.5 seems to have fixed the issue.

Tim - is it possible to have a .net 4 version of contour?

New version out that doesn't need 4.5 framework v3.0.1 (also easier upgrade) http://our.umbraco.org/projects/umbraco-pro/contour
