    What the......

    here's the short version.

my company needed a new website.

my marketing person contacted some web designers.

hired one that created my site in Umbraco 3 (this was just one year ago) did I get snowed or what?!

Designer created site and then bailed on me.

had to move my site to a new host.  thesba.com

they do not work in CMS

the site is chock full of bugs and coding errors that thesba.com has a really hard time fixing.

Bottom line.  I have so many glitches in my dinosaur Umbraco site and no real help getting them fixed.  who can help me and for what price?

    thanks a million,

signed,  desperate company owner in St. Louis

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. It doesn't make sense to me why someone would create your site in Umbraco 3 last year because it is such an old version and each version is better and better (and it's not like it cost them anything to use a newer version). At this point, with Umbraco 7 out and major changes over the versions including a shift in emphasis from XSLT based templates to MVC templates, I think your site will need a major overhaul. The good news is the CMS has gotten better and the community stronger. Your best bet might be to look for a certified partner at http://umbraco.com/certified-partners.aspx.

BTW, you posted in the "Umbraco as a Service" section which refers to the upcoming cloud hosting service which will make life a lot easier for hosting Umbraco sites. If you do decide to get your site upgraded to the latest and greatest version of Umbraco, I suggest you seriously consider using Umbraco as a Service for hosting which is what I plan to do for my clients. I saw a preview at uWestFest and it looks great!

Erin - I work for a company in St. Louis and have the same issue with our website. Wondering if we had the same firm design our websites. Did the firm you were working with start with an H?
