As the title states, we have a new website with Umbraco 7.3.4 installed (via NuGet).
When navigating to the Umbraco backend, we see the familiar "Install" page which lets use install Umbraco. We noticed that when we choose the default install option, the "Grid *" data types appear in the "Data Types" list when we select to view them in the backend.
However, for a different website project, when we customise the installation, and choose to connect to SQL Server (using a fresh, blank, database), although the install works, the "Grid *" data types are missing. They simply do not appear.
We are able to create a new data type using the "Grid Layout" as the "Property Editor", but why do we need to do this when those data types were already setup for us in the first site we created (using the default installation options).
1) Why is the "Grid" data type not being installed when we choose "Customise" as the setup type?
2) Is there a way to get the "Grid *" data types installed into the site, other then manually using "Create Data Type", as part of the customised installation?

Actually it seems that it's easy enough for us to create a new data type, using the "Grid layout" property editor. Possibly the Grid data types went missing based on the default theme we chose when customising the install.
All you have to do is create a new Data Type in the Developer section and select Grid Layout as the Property Editor. This is because Grid Layouts shouldn't have a default setup but be customised for the site it is used on.
Yeah, after thinking about it, simply creating a new data type (using property editor of "Grid Layout") did the trick. It's likely that the custom installation, using a one of the themes that Umbraco offers you, did create "Grid *" data types as part of the theme, which is where we got confused.
