    Crop returns empty string

    Hi,

suddently, my Image-Crop function does not work anymore.

I have a media-picker in my Documenttype and an own Crop-Datatype. I referered to that Datatype in the upload-image (umbracoFile) Property of my Mediatype Image.

In my Partial-View I access as followed:

    var img = Umbraco.Media(obj.bild);
    var imgSrc = img.GetCropUrl("umbracoFile", "Objekt2");

It worked last week. Now, I don't know why exactly, it always returns an empty string. Already republish, recropped everything, reboot server, cleared temp-files... I don't know whats wrong. Any idea?

Do you have ImageResizer installed (you shouldn't)?

Nope. I haven't. All I installed was the Analytics Package.

Ok. I deinstalled the Analytics-Package and the crop works again! I will inform Warren about that issue.

    Hello Thomas
It's very odd issue indeed & one I have not heard or seen before.

I may need more notes off you Thomas to investigate & try to replicate the issue to figure out what the issue is exactly.

    Thanks,
    Warren

What notes do you need? It's Version 7.2.6... no other binaries are installed, only some packages of myself, only include document-types, macros or templates (stuff like that).

I can give you access to the umbraco page, if this would help you.

Just reinstalled your package and the crops are gone again. Really odd. :)

Apologies for the late reply Thomas.

I have released version 1.2.0 of Analytics today and I was wondering if this new version has fixed your problem.

Can you let me know the outcome either way please.

    Many Thanks,
    Warren

    Hi.

Now, the package does not install at all. No "Analytics Section" shows up...

Hi Thomas. After uninstalling & reinstalling you may need to add your Umbraco backoffice user to the Analytics section.

This can be done if you goto the Users section, find the relevant user and ensure they have the Analytics section checked.

Could you verify this for me please?

    Hi.

Package is installed, but even in the user section, there is no analytics section to check / choose. But in the installed packages, Analytics shows up.

    Hmm how very odd indeed.

What version of Umbraco are you using, & other details you can provide about the setup so I can try to understand the problem further.

It's Version 7.2.6 - but I also get the same result, when I try it with a blank local setup...

Hmm interesting I will have to retry to see if I can replicate this.

What database type are you using & other details you can provide about your setup would be fantastic. I will re-test this tomorrow when I am back at my desk.

With 7.2.8 now out, would you mind trying on this to see if this resolves it at all please?

Can you confirm when installed that there is an Analyrics folder in the App_Plugins folder of the site as well please.

    Hi,

we use a MS SQL 2008 Database. Version 7.2.8 shows up the same odd habit.

    Analytics-Folder is present.

I can provide ftp and backend-access to you, if this is helpful.

    Best regards -

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

So to clarify even on your local machine setup if you install the Analytics package it does not work (as you cannot see the section at all, or is this going back to your original question/problem of it interfering with crops?

    Thanks,
    Warren

With 7.2.8 it seems to run locally. The crop-problem does not appear anymore in the setup, where I do not see the section at all. Maybe this has been corrupted by the install-deinstall processes. I try to figure out what the problem is. Anyway, thank you very much so far for your support and over all for your great package :)

I am sorry I am unable to figure out what the problem is exactly. If you get to the bottom of it please do let me know.
