I have taken over the adminstration of a umbraco site from another, and I am new to umbraco but not to .net.
But I have a problem, I have created a new template (masterpage) and a new document type that uses the template. No problem with that, but when I want to create a new page the document type I have made is not in the dropdown list of document types can anyone tell me if I am missing somthing (some restrictions that have to be set somewhere or ... ).
When creating new document types you may need to allow this document type to be a child of another document type.
Are you trying to create this new page as the child of another page? If so, go to the document type of the parent (you can find this out by clicking on the Properties tab of the page in question) in Settings, click the Structure tab, and check that the box for your new document type is checked under 'Allowed child nodetypes'.

When creating new document types you may need to allow this document type to be a child of another document type.
Are you trying to create this new page as the child of another page?
