Cheap umbraco hosting in the UK?

Can anyone recommend a UK web host on which Umbraco is supported (and you have experience of)?

    Thanks

Oh, I should have said - it will need to be a shared host ...

    Hi manwood,

Shared hosting is not yet officially supported on Umbraco 4.0.3. Umbraco 4.1 supports some elements of Medium Trust but is still in beta and therefore not recommended for production. The Medium Trust modifications I have made are unofficial and unsupported. Please use it at your own risk.

    I use GoDaddy to run mine - $10 a month, 150GB diskspace, 1.5TB data transfer a month.

    HTH,

    Benjamin

P.S. They bill in USD cause they're American but they have a European data centre, which is what I have.

P.P.S. For the hosting fee, their support team is pretty darn good too, in my experience.

softsys hosting I use for my shared hosting using full trust (need to raise a ticket and ask them to do it). they are american but it seems there is not a UK based which supports Umbraco in shared hosting just dedicated.

As a clarification, shared hosting is definitely supported by umbraco and has been since the beginning... but as Benjamin notes, you'll need to find a host with full-trust ability until 4.1 comes out with its support of medium trust.

There are many shared hosts that provide full-trust. I know of a few in the US but haven't investigated in the UK; surely there must be some because not everyone is running VPS or dedicated servers for their sites, nor are they all hosted in the states.

    cheers,
    doug.

Although I only have VPS and Dedicated hosting with EUKHost, I believe that their shared hosting can be requested to run in full trust.  Their support is pretty good and they're excellent value.  UK based data centres.

I use HostingUK and have never had any probs. I've also heard good things about Titan, though I can't vouch for them personaly.

We host a number of website with Arvixe and have had no problems

    http://www.arvixe.com/asp_net_web_hosting

    http://www.arvixe.com/umbraco_hosting

They're not based in the UK but hosting starts at about $5 a month and gives you unlimited SQL Server 2008 and MySQL databases together with 6 application pools. Support is also pretty good...

    Hey,

In the past I have used http://www.discountasp.net/ you get a 30 day free trial, which I used then cancelled and they refunded me the money no problem.

I then setup another account with them as I needed a .net host, I have had to problems with them.

I can't comment on uptimes or any performance side of their hosting as I never pushed it that hard.

    Thanks,

    Will
