    Suggestions to list & group nodes alphabetically by last name

    I'm looking for suggestions on how to render a list of people, that are then sorted and grouped into sections by their last rname, i.e. 'A-E' & 'F-H'. Probably the biggest hurdle is that the site is pre-existing and therefore the nodes have their names written in full, rather than separate fields for first and surname.

    Is there a 'razor only' method so that this in the content tree:

    	- John H
    	- John D
    	- John B

    can be rendered and grouped like this on a page:
    A-E
    John B
    John D
    F-H
    John H
