I want to use my own database for getting some information of the users .....
I know one way is using the usercontrol ....
is there any other way to work with my own database ?

You can just do this however you would in a normal .NET project using userControls, just remember to copy over your assembley to the /bin directory and then add your usercontrols to Umbraco in the usual way.
