Deploying Umbraco to new Server - Packages Section Dies

    My workflow is as follows:

    1. Work on local dev machine

    2. Check my website into source control

    3. script entire database for deployment

    4. FTP files from SVN to web server

    5. Run sql script on prod DB

This all works fine, mostly, except for the following issues i've just experienced:

    1. Packages tree node does not expand on prod.

    2. Infocast 301 redirect extension no longer redirects correctly.

Number 1 is the showstopper for me right now... anybody know why this is happening?  Is there a recommended set of tables to script for migration (perhaps some need to stay on the server)?

I've migrated before and not had this problem... or its possible i didn't notice it as all dev work is done locally, so normally i dont need to go into the packages section on the server.. but in this case, i really do.

    Thanks all

I've done a bit of hunting around and others have suggested this is caused by the packages folder or xml being empty or invalid...

    http://our.umbraco.org/forum/getting-started/installing-umbraco/3520-[4021]-Developer-Packages-tree-empty

but the thing is my server has the exact same file system and database as my local environment.  i had a poke through the installed packages config and couldn't see any hardcoded file paths or anything like that (things that would be different between environments)

I'm really stumped about this one, but need to figure it out asap. Under the pump to deploy this site yesterday!

    Thanks heaps

Hmmm... no responses.  I'll be working again on this tonight (about 8 hours time)... I'm thinking i'll do the following:

    1. Pull database down from prod server to local - see if it replicates the issue locally (file system issue?)
    2. Push full file system from local to prod - see if it fixes it (file system issue)
    3. Poke around database to see if there are any absolute file paths in there (maybe somebody can answer this one??)
    4. Poke around all config files for file paths (anybody)

Any suggestions anybody can offer to help fix this would be massively appreciated.  Funny thing is i saw it on a previous umbraco install on the same server (I didn't do that one so not sure what was done to it before)... could it be a server issue?  Any ideas around what could cause this on a server (its a win2003 64bit server on Rackspace Cloud)??

Any assistance or suggestions massively appreciated

    Cheers
    Greg
