Hi al,
I just deployed a new site and am running into a seemingly sporadic issue with the back-office.
[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.] umbraco.controls.GenericProperties.GenericProperty.UpdateInterface() +819 umbraco.controls.GenericProperties.GenericProperty.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) +21 System.Web.Util.CalliHelper.EventArgFunctionCaller(IntPtr fp, Object o, Object t, EventArgs e) +15 System.Web.Util.CalliEventHandlerDelegateProxy.Callback(Object sender, EventArgs e) +34 System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +99 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +47 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +131 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +1061
This happens (more often than not) when I go to edit a Document Type. Has anyone seen this before? What was the fix?
Thanks,Nik
From having a look at the code the only cause I can think of is that you're missing a Data Type from the server which the Database things should exist.
Can you reproduce it on any particular page each time?
Slace, thanks. I think this boiled down to the MediaPicker w/ Preview package that required .NET 3.5. I have not seen this again since I installed 3.5
